Angelina Gualdoni begins her paintings by pouring directly onto the canvas, creating a capricious and unpredictable ground. She then paints over top to flush out naturally occurring forms and voids. Her work is permeated by an intense interest in tensions of emptiness and being, the ephemerality of light, space, and the passage of time.
