Portrait of Brenda Frazier

Bernard Boutet De Monvel

Brenda Diana Duff Frazier (1921-82), American debutante popular during the Depression era... Frazier popularized the "white face" look, with her powdered skin as a startling contrast to her bright red painted lips and very dark, perfectly coiffed hair. In 1939 the word 'celebutante' was coined to describe Frazier's high-profile persona and fashionable notoriety. http://fineart.ha.com/itm/bernard-boutet-de-monvel-french-1881-1949-portrait-of-brenda-frazieroil-and-pencil-on-canvas14-x-13-inc....
