This is one of a group of watercolors by Estella Canziani in the Birmingham Collection. They are particularly valuable in providing documentary information on the clothes and associated lifestyle of the local people living in remote villages in Northern Italy. This watercolor of jewellery includes an ebony and mother of pearl cross (i), a silver cross containing relique (ii), types of crosses decorated with enamel (iii), rings from Scanno (iv), types of gold and enamel rings (v).
