Artwork Title: Strange Snow

Strange Snow, 2014

Lilli Carré

“Strange Snow” is displayed in two concurrent forms: a looped animation presented on a monitor and, on an adjacent wall, twelve drawings that Carré used to generate the animations, all framed together. The individual frames are hung in sequence and allow the viewer to both experience the drawings as a composite and to compare the singular frames to their moving counterpart—effectively demystifying the process of animation and providing an opportunity to see the work both in space and in time. This piece was first exhibited at the Columbus Museum of Art in 2014
