Since 1992, Rineke Dijkstra has been making a series of photos in which she has adolescents pose for her camera without being given any initial instructions. It resulted in an impressive series of portraits of teenagers who feel awkward and expose themselves in a disarmingly vulnerable way. ...This photo from the series shows a girl on the beach of Hilton Head Island, a beach for rich Americans.
