Paintings for my solo exhibition alongside Nico Delort at Gallery Nucleus. This body of work explores the concepts of rituals, shrines, and animal sacrifice. Each piece depicts a creature whose death has been touched by human or mystical intervention; whether sacrificed as part of an occult practice, honored with a floral arrangement, or discovered mummified in a bog after many centuries have passed. I selected animals which are commonly considered to be pests, which reflects the dismissive attitudes we hold towards certain species until they can be used for a human purpose.
