Carol Jackson's work is informed by epic literature, industrial age Americana, the landscape of the American West, and the notion that "the future belongs to ghosts."

Carol Jackson received her MFA in 1992 from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where she now teaches. Her work has been recent exhibited at the 2014 Whitney Biennial, curated by Anthony Elms (New York, NY); Monique Meloche Gallery (Chicago, IL); Kunsthaus Speckstrasse (Hamburg, Germany); Chicago Cultural Center (Chicago, IL); Van Abbe Museum (Eindhoven, Netherlands); and The Smart Museum of Art (Chicago, IL). She has been featured in the New York Times, Interview Magazine, Frieze Magazine, and Newcity. Jackson’s work is included in the collections of The Smart Museum of Art (Chicago, IL) and the Werner Hirsch Drawing Collection (Los Angeles, CA), among others.
