Self Portrait

Christine Sundberg

In 1964, in the very first class admitting women to the Royal Swedish Academy of Art, there was a 26 year old student from Kalmar. Already a trained artist, she would later move to Düsseldorf and Paris, where she would establish her own professional studio as well as an art salon for young female artists. In a time where Swedish women didn’t yet have the right to vote, she worked for both the French governement and the Louvre Art Museum. Perhaps she is also Kalmars least known international artist, as this is her very first solo exhibition [21/05 - 04/09 2016].
