Studio at P.C. Hooftstraat 901926 by Coen Van Oven

Attic studio with a view to roofs of the P.C. Hooftstraat

High attic with plank floor; open attic window in the background. Through the open window one can see the roofs and chimneys of the houses on the other side of the P.C. Hooftstraat. A round table with chairs centers the whole, which breathes an intimate and warm atmosphere.

Coen van Oven lived at the P.C. Hooftstraat 90 from 16 March 1921 to 20 January 1927.... The painter lived on the third floor. The attic depicted in this work resembles the Stadhouderskade studio, where the painter lived from 1939 and many still remember.
