Elisabeth Tallyarde was born and died in Dordrecht and married Matthijs Snouck in 1680. From the inventory of Matthijs Snouck's legacy of 1705, it appears that they lived in a colonnade near the Great Head at the Dordrecht harbor. The big house was full of portraits of ancestors and herself. Elisabeth is here in the antique "imagined" as a forest nymph from the stories of Ovidius.
