Julian Onderdonk

USA / 1882 - 1922 / wikipedia
Robert Julian Onderdonk was a Texan Impressionist painter, often called "the father of Texas painting." He was born in San Antonio, but left to New York in his youth to train under William Merritt Chase, a renowned American Impressionist. In 1909, Onderdonk returned to San Antonio, where he produced the vast majority of his works, a highlight of which were his bluebonnet landscapes. While president, George W. Bush decorated the Oval Office with three of Onderdonk's paintings.
