Mother’s Shelter2017 by Pauline Teunissen

Hornbill birds nest in tree cavities. The female closes the entrance with a wall made of mud, droppings and fruit pulp until a small hole is left. This way she and her chicks are protected against predators. The male is responsible for the food supply until the chicks leave the nest.
