Rick Reinert's formal art education took place in the early 1970's at Western Kentucky University. His arts education continued to evolve over the years, and he exhibited large, expressionistic works in one-man shows throughout Germany and Canada.

After his initial success, Reinert took time off to establish two small businesses and to raise his family. Through a series of circumstances related to his business, Reinert became a highly visable and vocal proponent of campaign finance reform, and was the subject of a number of articles including a cover story in Time Magazine in Feb. 2000. During this time, his commitment to painting was renewed, and he began creating art again. He painted through the night and slowly established the unique and passionate style that he is known for today.

Painting seven days a week, 9 hours a day, Reinert continues to challenge himself as one of America's most prolific painters. This dedication and hard work has paid off, and his paintings have won accolades across the country.

Throughout his career Reinert has won numerous Best of Show awards including first, second, third, as well as the People’s Choice Awards. In 2012 his painting “Dusk at King and Queen” was chosen “Best of Show, Mayors Purchase Award” at the Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition.

Reinert was also the featured artist at the Charleston Symphony live auction in 2012 and his work hangs in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South America, and the Middle East. Museum and corporate collcetors include the Gadsden Museum of Art, Gadsden, AL, Carolina First Bank, Seaside Bank, UBS financial and the Medical University of South Carolina.
