Artwork Title: Big Cypress National Preserve

Big Cypress National Preserve

Stephen Rockwood

For the Type Hike series on Shores. From the artist: "Before you arrive at Big Cypress National Preserve, along the historic road called the Tamiami Trail, is the Miccosukee Indian Village tucked away into the wetlands of the Everglades. The village showcases the arts, culture, and lifestyle of the native tribe and its unique history in Florida. In a time when our native people are slowly being stripped of their rights and their respect, I've deemed it appropriate to design a poster that also gives a nod to Florida's natives. The design is intended to depict a blanket, decorated with Miccosukee pattern work and highlighted with moments of the flora/fauna that make up the beauty of Big Cypress and it's abundant offerings."
