William A. Garnett (1916–2006) was an American landscape photographer specializing in aerial shots. Born in Chicago and raised in Pasadena, California, Garnett was drafted into the army in 1944. After leaving in 1945, he used the G.I. Bill to pay for flight lessons, and bought his first plane in 1949. Thus he began taking aerial photographs, garnering critical attention by 1953. Garnett’s work has been published in many national magazines, including Life, Reader's Digest, and The New York Times Magazine.
