Gjon Mili used a strobe light to create this illusion of smooth movement. He used a high aperture and low ISO to create the high contrast, making the photograph look effective to the viewer. Also the fact that the model is wearing stand-out clothing makes the extended movement and pattern look more intricate and smooth. The model doesn't move vertically, only horizontally in a smooth fashion. This makes the image look smooth and more abstract--and not even like a person--ust shapes and pattern. Also Mili used a tripod so every flash of light captures a movement in a smooth consecutive fashion. ... This photographer uses bulb on the camera so you can chose the length of time you want to capture, without it being limited and set before. I am influenced by Mili because he has experimented with capturing a movement or action in one photograph, using light. I think this creates an amazing effect which is abstract and forms...
