Artwork Title: Fly TWA California Travel Poster

Fly TWA California Travel Poster, 1950

David Klein

TWA California Travel Poster (c. 1950s). Another beautiful image courtesy of TWA's favorite artist, David Klein, this poster takes the normal focus away from busy cityscapes to spotlight one of America's most majestic sights found nowhere else in the world: California's towering giant sequoias. Long a major attraction for Westbound travelers and nature enthusiasts the world over, Mariposa Grove's Wawona Tunnel Tree astounded visitors of Yosemite National Park for almost 90 years until it fell in the harsh winter of 1969. A Heritage first, this incredible illustration of a now-lost arboreal titan is arguably one of Klein's best works for the airline.
