After the birth of a friend’s baby, Dijkstra decided to photograph three women in different moments after the child delivery: one hour, one day and one week after. These images strike the observer because of the intense glance in the women’s eyes, at the same time lost and self confident, and the strong sense of connection between mother and child that shines through the softness of the hug.
